My name is Nargiz and I did MSc in International and Comparative Education at the University of Glasgow. This one- year programme improved my understanding of the crucial role of education in the world of today. Currently I am working at the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

What do you miss most from your time as a student in the UK?

One thing I really miss from my time in Glasgow, is studying in the university library. It is one of the oldest and largest university libraries in the UK, and it became one of my favourite spots on campus. The library had such a cosy atmosphere, and the view was stunning. Studying there was always so motivating and inspiring.

How do you aim to make an impact in the field of education?

I aim to make an impact in the field of education by coordinating education projects, which helps me develop new skills while contributing to the growth of the sector. Additionally, I plan to release more videos on my YouTube channel Educationist, aimed at both local and global communities, to make education more accessible and engaging for all.

What advice would you give to new international students

starting their journey in the UK? If you’re a master’s student, you have just one year, so try to make the most of it. Join societies, attend events, and consider volunteering—it’s a great experience. Also, plan your travels early to explore the UK while managing your studies.

What was the biggest challenge you faced as a student, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge I faced as a student was managing my time during finals, especially with tight deadlines. I sometimes procrastinated, which made things stressful. I would advise current students to manage their time wisely to avoid unnecessary stress.
