Leyla, a mom and an educational specialist with a masters degree in Adult Education for Social Changes from UofG. I am currently working at the British Council as the Sales and Customer Services Branch Coordinator.

~ What was your favorite part of your university experience at UofG ?

-I really enjoyed being in multicultural environment, where you experience so many different cultures. Also, I was fond of knowledge exchange among my peers who had been more experienced than me in professional sphere and I learnt a lot from them.

~ What advice would you give about networking as a student in the UK?

-I highly encourage students to register in different clubs and attend fairs that are organized at the university. I made a friend on my first day of uni when attending the induction week, so social engagement is crucial. Also, I believe they need to be open to share their point of view on topics without being afraid of judgements and engage into interesting discussions such as sharing national customs and traditions or local living style, for example.

~ As we know you also have the podcast “Beyond Limits “ What inspired you to start it?

-Yes, that’s right. I have recently started my new project “Beyond Limits”, where I bring brilliant guests each week to talk about different topics. I have been listening to podcast for the last 5 years and always wanted to create one myself, but was not yet ready for that. This year, once I started working with youth, I caught myself on the though that I want to share knowledge and skills with a broader audience. Then, I decided to showcase the expertice of our hardworking and smart young generation so that others can learn from them as well. So, that’s how it all started.

~ What advice do you have for aspiring digital creators?

-My advice will be to work really hard and never give up even if it can be difficult in the beginning. Challenges teach us a lot, and once you overcome them you are one step ahead of others. Also, what is important is to learn something new every day. If you want to become influential as a digital creator, you can learn how different platforms work and catch up with the trends are used these days.

~ Why did you join University of Glasgow Alumni Association?

-I joined University of Glasgow Azerbaijan Alumni Association to meet like minded friends, make new acquaintances, and be engaged in soacial activities. I think it is a great community of future leaders, social activists, and good friends.
